"Tom Taylor, escritor de quadrinhos da série Star Wars da Dark Horse, concedeu uma entrevista ao site IGN, em que comentou a história de Injustice: Gods Among Us.

“Jogos de luta não são conhecidos por sua boa narrativa. Contudo, estou feliz em dizer que os escritores fizeram uma história incrível. Pra falar a verdade, quando o roteiro chegou, eu girei meus olhos, trinquei meus dentes e me preparei para ler aquela história usual de game de luta; um diálogo desajeitado, seguido de uma razão excêntrica para acabar com os oponentes. Então, eu comecei a ler, e li tudo numa sentada só, e daí, sorri. Era o roteiro mais ambicioso que já vi de um game de luta”, afirmou Taylor."

Sinopse: Linhas foram elaboradas, vidas foram perdidas. Enquanto Superman consolida seu governo, Batman passou à clandestinidade para se recuperar de seus ferimentos e construir o movimento de resistência. Sinopse: Depois que o Coringa destrói Metrópolis com uma arma nuclear, enganando Superman, que acreditava que estava a lutar contra Apocalypse e assim acabou matando Lois Lane e o seu filho não nascido, Superman assassina o Coringa diante de Batman e estabelece uma nova ordem mundial. Enquanto isso, na Terra 2, a Liga da Justiça enfrenta Adão Negro, Apocalypse, Ares e outros enquanto Batman vence Exterminador no Asilo Arkham. Batman vai para a torre dar suporte a Cyborg e Flash, encontrando Mulher-Gato (neutralizada pelos heróis antes da chegada de Batman), Bane e Lex Luthor. Batman vence a dupla faltante e percebe que há uma bomba em Metrópolis. Batman chega na praça onde a bomba está primeiro e entra em diálogo com o Coringa. Quando o palhaço está prestes a acionar a bomba, Batman pula nele enquanto Flash, Aquaman, Arqueiro Verde, Hal Jordan e Mulher Maravilha correm até a praça. Um evento inexplicável ocorre e Aquaman, Batman, Coringa, Mulher-Maravilha, Arqueiro Verde e Hal Jordan vão para a Terra 1.

Na verdade, o Ano 4 ainda vai ser lançado.

O Ano 3 já terminou a sua história principal (final bem fraquinho por sinal), mas ele terminará oficialmente quando lançarem o seu Annual que está previsto para abril (talvez eles lancem alguns especiais no estilo "Joker").

Eu suspeito que eles lancem um "Ano 6", retratando a invasão de Darkseid sobre Terra para se aproveitar da situação dos eventos do game.

But Superman simply going into retreat is not something Batman thinks is a good idea, knowing from experience that he’ll regroup and return. Eu estou curioso para ver uma luta entre Apolo e Superman

Ares e Hércules tão lá andando no Olimpo de boa, conversando sobre a vida entediante de um deus (tipo comer a Afrodite com o marido corno sabendo disso e mesmo assim não poder fazer nada, roubar o cãozinho do Hades ou fazer um monte de filhos sem precisar pagar pensão), quando do nada, Ares da uma de Hélio (entendedores entenderão) e fala que o povo da Terra curte idolatrar mais celebridades, super-heróis e alemães do BBB do que os deuses gregos. Por causa disso, Ares pega uma peixeira, decapita o Senhor Incrível e depois começa a destruir imagens de divindades enquanto grava vídeos e manda para o YouTube (ok, nada disso aconteceu). Super Babacaman, Hal Jordan amarelou, Mulher Maravilha começa a ver a merda que ela fez, Batman de barbinha sexy e Alfred observando se o Bruce vai comer a batata doce e frango que ele preparou com tanto carinho (sério, as vezes eu fico com pena do Alfred).

IGN: Now that the Year Three annual is out, can you give us your thoughts on those two stories and what you wanted to add to the larger tapestry of Injustice?

Buccellato: Well, I’m glad that Ray Fawkes did such an amazing job tying up some loose ends and definitively answering why and how Constantine got involved. He has a knack for that darker occult stuff and knocked it out of the park. As far as my half of the annual, I’m very proud of the Teen Titans story I told. I love the titans and wanted to answer the question “where were they” without explaining it away that they got killed in the blast. Connor’s perspective on Superman’s actions was an important story to tell. I’d write a million Superboy books if I could.

IGN: Your Teen Titans story explained why we haven't seen that group of characters appear before now. Is there any chance they might escape their Phantom Zone imprisonment and appear in Year Four?

Buccellato: They might. Although… if I were a betting man I would say year 5 is more likely a homecoming for them.

IGN: Let's set the stage for Year Four. Superman and Batman have just emerged on the other side of a yearlong magical war. What are there goals now? Does either view the past year as a victory for their faction?

Buccellato: In Superman’s mind, he has won. Batman and the resistance have gone underground and haven’t been heard from. The year four status quo is very close to the game in that the Regime is on top, Superman is on this metaphoric throne, and he reigns over earth. World peace… or else. When year four begins, Batman is still shaking off the effects of Constantine’s betrayal and the fact that his ranks have dwindled dramatically. It’s not over for Batman… but he begins year four on the verge of coming up with a new plan. One that involves someone who is NOT on his side…

IGN: Why have the Greek gods chosen now to intervene in Superman's rise to power? Are they threatened by his growing power an influence?

Buccellato: If you go back to year three, the plan was seeded when Hippolyta asked Hera for help reviving Wonder Woman and Superman. I don’t want to give away more than that. Sorry!

IGN: How are you choosing to portray the gods and their powers? How big a threat do they pose to Superman's army? Can they even be fought by conventional means?

Buccellato: Wonder Woman is Zeus’ daughter in the Injustice World. Ares has already been in the game and book… so the Greek Gods are definitely able to interact on a corporeal level. If you think Ares is a handful… imagine the might of Hera, Zeus, and Hercules.

IGN: The second print issue of Year Four promises a big showdown between Renee Montoya and Superman. Is this series Renee's time to step into the spotlight now that Commissioner Gordon is gone?

Buccellato: Renee has her own demons and her own opinions on what the resistance needs to do to stop Superman. And she is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to stop Superman. That said, the first part of year four WILL focus on Renee. There are SO many great characters in this baixaria that it isn’t easy to give them all their due… but I’m trying!

IGN: One of the issues that DC has solicited teases the return of Batgirl. What can you say about this version of the heroine? Is she motivated to take up arms because of the death of the Huntress in Year Three?

Buccellato: She is motivated by EVERYTHING that has happened in the first three years. So much pain and death… I think she steps up out of a feeling of obligation or necessity. It’s tough to watch your friends and family lay their lives on the line, while you are sitting on the sidelines.

IGN: Looking at all the issues solicited so far, it seems that Wonder Woman's conflicted loyalty is one of the central conflicts of Year Four. Were you eager to make Diana a focus this year, especially given how long she spent out of commission during Year Two and Year Three?

Buccellato: It wasn’t because she was out of commission that I wanted to focus on her… it’s because she is an intriguing character and she has a unique point of view in all of this. She stands with Superman. She is loyal, she is fierce, and she is willing to cross some lines in order to help him achieve his goal. But deep down, there is some conflict and I want to explore that.

IGN: How much will you be focusing on the romance between Wonder Woman and Superman in this series? Can that romance endure as Superman moves closer and closer to the becoming the tyrant he is in the game?

Buccellato: I don’t think there is an overt romance. I think they both know that under different circumstances, there might have been something enduring between them… but I don’t think Wonder Woman would ever cross that line out of respect to Lois and what happened. I also think all of Superman’s actions take their toll on both of their hearts… hardening them beyond the point of being able to love.

IGN: Looking at your work on Year Four so far and the art that's coming in, are there any moments that stand out to you as especially memorable? Are there any big action sequences fans should be looking forward to?

Buccellato: There are a few major fights coming up. There is one very unexpected fight on the horizon that I don’t want to spoil. It’s gonna be kind of a big deal. And of course Harley is Harley, so she will be doing the kooky things that she does… like taking an extreme interest in SHAZAM.
